1989
60 min | Documentary
Director: Roberto Pombo
Inspired by the book "1989" by journalist María Elvira Samper, this documentary recalls a key moment in Colombia's history when terrorism, fear, unrest, and political instability sought to bring down the Colombian state. At the same time, it questions whether, more than three decades later, a similar situation could happen again. The narrative thread of this story is the tale of Álvaro Ortega, a football linesman who was murdered by drug traffickers in an attempt to control the professional football business, as they were the owners of its most important teams.
